G.R.A.C.E. Africa (Grassroots Alliance for Community Education) was founded by Natasha Lameris Martin and registered as a Non Govermental Organization (NGO) in Kenya in 2001. As a registered non-profit 501(c) 3 organization in the US, G.R.A.C.E. USA is able to raise funds for the projects in Kenya.
The programs at G.R.A.C.E. Africa are designed to strengthen the ability of community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, youth groups, women’s groups, and government ministries to promote the rights of poor and marginalized people. Central to all activities and programs is an understanding of the important role the household plays when addressing health and human rights—especially the rights of children.
We work with more than 50 community-based partner organizations operating as a network through which we provide support in such areas as:
- HIV prevention
- Early childhood development
- Support for orphans and vulnerable children
- Nutrition
- Economic empowerment
- Child protection
- Maternal, neonatal and child health
- Human rights
- Sustainable agriculture
