G.R.A.C.E. to engage 18,000 households in Environmental Conservation work
With support from Co2balance (a UK based donor agency), G.R.A.C.E. will engage in environmental conservation work in the Mt. Kenya region, particularly in Meru South and Kieni East. This program will be implemented in 2012 for a period ranging between six months and one year with the purpose of reducing the carbon emissions levels around the Mount Kenya region. Broad activities will entail the selection of 18,000 households (16,000 in Kieni East and 2,000 in Meru South) which heavily rely on wood fuel for domestic use; providing them with Carbon Zero Stoves (CZS); training them on how to use them; collecting data on the usage of stoves and rates of carbon emission; and submitting the data to Co2balance.Posted on Monday 12th March, 2012
